This site brings together, for the first time, an important collection of digitised historic maps, photos and crowd-sourced histories provided by the public and key partners across Barnstaple.
Our partners include the Barnstaple Town Council, Devon Wildlife Trust, North Devon Biosphere and the Barnstaple Alliance (Primary Care Network) and a wide range of local archives, community groups and individuals.
This website allows you to interact with and contribute to many different 'layers' of Barnstaple's history. These layers include: historic maps, old pictures of buildings, films, recordings, as well as stories about people who have lived and worked in Barnstaple - added to the map by Barumites themselves!
